What spare parts do you keep onhand for your Cimex?

I've never had Big Yella go down in the field, but I keep a spare belt onhand just in case. Are there any other parts that I should have ready - just in case?

Like you I stock a belt. I did have a pivot arm bushing go last year but they are not cheap and left and right are not interchangalbe. Ricks crew next day aired it to me and got me going quickly. I was able to coble it together to make work until then. It caught me off guard at 3:00am when it happened.

The other thing I would recommend is the soloution rod release. The part I'm talking about is the blue box that is on the bottom the plunger that allows flow through the tube. The rod is threaded into a brass bushing within the box. If that part goes remove the box and you have constant flow I wet the carpet area a few paths then would close the valve and do my dry passes it allows you to finish the job. The part is inexpensive and worth stocking you can gorilla the bushing back into the housing.

I really have been pleased with the little amount of breakdowns I've had for the amount of SF I've cleaned with it. Its a great machine. One of the biggest issues I've read about is cleaning out the lower end of encap juices. Rick has supplied on the board several times procedures I have done this regularly now as preventative maintanence. I also drain the tank, vacuum (wet/dry) the tank and hoses when not using for a while.

Nice advice from Jeff!

There really isn't much that goes wrong with these machines. Belts are the most common "wear" item. And they usually begin to slip a little over a period of time - giving you a warning that you need to get one ordered.

We keep all the most common replacement parts in stock, and the importer has everything available too. So getting anything you need quickly is never a problem. And you'll find these machines are pretty straight forward, so any of the items you might need to replace will be reasonably simple to accomplish. As a rule though, they're built like a tank - so just go out there and run the wheels off 'em.

All the answers above are WRONG!

The most commonly used item on our Cimex is the Releasit. I have to fill that bucket way more than I have to replace a belt.

Sorry I couldn't resist.
