Orbot brush kit question

March 17 2009 at 9:51 PM
Geoff Dunlap

I received an email from HOS-USA letting me know that they now had a tile & grout brush kit available for the orbot. Don't recall the exact details but it included weights and was priced near or a little over $500. This is probably not new news to you guys but I haven't been on the board for a while. I did however look for a thread before posting and didn't see one. My question is does anyone have this brush kit and if so how good does it work?

For that price it should scare the soil off the T&G LOL

According to HOS...
The new T&G brush sells for $230. And the price for the 40 lbs weight kit set is $270. You could order the brush by itself but the machine will vibrate more and the bristles will not flow into the grout lines as well, so it wouldn't be able to clean as effectively. This combination enables the Orbot to become a "stand alone" tile and grout machine that can clean extremely well. By comparison, an unweighted OP machine would not work nearly as well. And once you have the weights, you could also use them to sand, strip, polish, hone, etc, other hard floor surfaces such as wood, VCT, marble, terrazzo, concrete, etc.

Sure it's a little pricey, but with this setup, the Orbot can now cover a lot of territory using a single machine.

If I May make a suggestion first I see not pictures of the brushes or the weights for the Orbot on any site I have checked yet. One site had the brush but I do not think it is the correct one due to how it looks like it connects to the Orbot. There is no info the Tile and Grout brush and weight system or why you should buy them together. Not even on the HOS site. I did see a brush driver but for bonnets and pads.

I guess pricey is in the eyes of the person purchasing it.
How much work can you do with what you buy, will it save you time money and stress on your body?

I love rotary machines due to them being very versatile, easy to run, fix, and they do not take up much room. It seems to me this new set up for the Orbot with make it very similar. FRom experience you cannot strip with the Orbot with out the weights.

Thank you for the info Rick I now know why it failed in that task and it makes sense to me. We are in the trial stages of some new thermoplastic chemicals for floor care with the Orbot
sure hope it works out it will mean another machine not needed.
