Suggestions/Comments on carpet warranty obstcale

One of my multi-location retail customers states they will not allow mechanical action of rotary brush with shower feed encap cleaner on their store location commercial carpet due to this maintenance procedure voiding their carpet warranty from their mill providers (ex: Mannington). This method of maintenance procedure is most preferred due to equipment cost. The carpet brush is a Malish SpinSafe Carpet Brush which is designed not to damage fiber. Has anyone been succesful in overcoming this objection ?

What about using a Counter-rotating brush machine? The mills usually love those.

Michael,
If you need to order a Malish Spin Brush - we're a Malish distributor.

I have personally used this type of brush in the past and it' OK. But it's not terribly effective because the plate prevents the brush from making much contact with the carpet. Nor is the brush as safe for the carpet fiber as a planetary machine (i.e Cimex). It is possible for a rotary machine to damage a carpet by untwisting the or abrading the pile. On the other hand, a planetary machine turns right and left at the same time --- so as it's damaging the carpet, it's un-damaging the carpet (is un-damaging a word). Professional Testing Lab confirms that the Cimex is SAFE for commercial cut pile carpet. They made a whopping 22 passes with a Cimex using Releasit and FiberPlus pads and determined that it's safe...

We have 175 RPM Floor Machines in all the stores and the cost of purchasing 25+ counter rotating brushes is not economically feasable.

Then those Malish brushes may just be the way to go. If you would like us to provide them for you, we will give you a good deal on them.

What price could you do for the Malish SpinSafe Carpet Brush in a 15" as well as 18" size. I believe the Malish codes for the two brushes are below.

Malish 732915-9200
Malish 732918-9200
