A Von Schrader machine is a cool machine. It generates foam, scrubs it in, and sucks up a percentage of the foam. It's a little slow in a commercial application (I used to have one). And it's a little bit awkward to use efficiently in a residential setting. Nevertheless, I still think that it's a cool concept from a design perspective. And yet a Cimex, an Orbot, a cylindrical machine, or even a standard rotary machine will be faster and more efficient for performing commercial encap cleaning.

Von Schrader's parent company (Racine Industries) has been around for many years; the same parent company makes Host powder and the Host machines. The Von Schrader Esprit machine for upholstery is a really nice unit. It's kind of pricey, but it can do a very good job of low moisture cleaning on upholstery.

By the way: You can use Releasit Encap-Clean in a Von Schrader machine (we have a few customers that do this) - and they've been pleased with the results they get.

Thanks for the info

I appreciate the information. It's what I was originally gonna get, but decided to go with encap instead mostly because of the lower cost. I wanted to use the money I saved to get a better vapor cleaner/vac combo. That's what I plan on using for upholstery and tile/grout.
