I do janitorial. It is actually our core business. I do carpet cleaning because I was able to buy a truck with the same payments we were subcontracting for. I hated the work our sub was doing and revisited the idea of carpet cleaning that we had thought about 10 years earlier. We would starve and be living in a tent if I had to rely on income from carpet cleaning. But like I said we are primarily janitorial. I discovered the cimex at an IICRC class and bought on that day. The instructor gave a little demonstration with it and I was hooked.

That said, I like the instant gratification of a nice clean carpet and getting paid right away.( for residential work

My company does residential and commercial cleaning as well as carpet cleaning for both. Started off with housecleaning, then did a bunch a move-outs so needed to buy an extractor. Only recently have we expanded to commercial cleaning. Encapsulation opened the door to the commercial world for us.
