| Those of you that have an Orbot, do you think it is too big for residential cleaning? Also, how easy is it to lift in and out of a van?
Thanks! |

Joe-
Orbot is great for residential, the sprayer you may not want because it really doesn't allow dwell time, its more spray and clean. I use my Orbot for the majority of residential.
Fits it the van without any problem, the handle folds. |

I like my Orbot for residential work, to me the sprayer is a must.Mostly the Orbot is used to scrub the carpet before extraction for my company, when I do use it as a stand alone method dwell time had not been an issue, for the extra money I would not order with out a sprayer.

Honest Joe,
Orbot has a on and off switch and a sprayer switch. Whats cool about that is you can spray the carpet without ever turning on the orbot. Let it dwell and then then begin cleaning. No extra sprayer is needed its built in on the Orbot. And if need be, you can add moisture right from the handle of your Orbot if you allowed the pre spray to dwell too long.
Not only that, you can apply the pre spray with the SprayBorg and agitate at the same time with 17" fiber plus pads let dwell, and simply pull off the fiber plus pad attach the micro-fiber bonnet and extract. It actually saves you time.
You can actually get in tight areas with it as well be adjusting the handle in an uprihght position. great machine.

It is perfect for residential. Very easy to move around. Looks very nice and hi-tech. Cleans incredibly well. It is probably the most versatile machine you can buy. Extremely easy to get up and down stairs. It is also very quite in comparison to an extractor.
I haven't had a single dissatisfied customer yet using it. Usually they are blown away by the whole process.
You will need a separate tool to clean stairs, such as a Oreck Orbitor or a Makita polisher.
I haven't come across any Orbot owners who have been disappointed at all. Great investment.
It is very easy to lift in and out of the van. Just have the handles folded in half and it's super easy to get out, and just little bit tougher to get in. It's very compact when folded, so the weight can be very close to your body when lifting it. I have a ramp, but never use it for the Orbot.

Thanks so much for the info guys. That's why I love these forums, you get the truth, good or bad. I have been looking at the various OP machines available, and I'm sure that they are all good, but that Orbot just has a look of it's own.
As Opie Taylor would say, "She sure is purty Paw"! |

Al,
Surely you not using the fiber plus pads on residential are you? I have been using my Orbot quite a bit on residential but mostly in combination with hwe but not always. The sprayer seems to be a must for commercial but on residential I keep thinking I should remove it and see how I like it. Watching the hos-usa video of the orbot without the sprayer it certainly looks more versatile then with it. I am still looking for a small oscillating machine for tight spaces and agitating prespray on small areas that I don't want to get the orbot out for but just can't seem to find one I really like. |

I have used the Fiberplus pads on TRASHED out residential...
I will prespray then scrub the prespray in with the fiberplus pads. By the time I've quickly scrubbed in the prespray, I mist the carpet again with Hydrox or whatever Im using to be sure the carpet is still damp. Will then go over with either tuways or glads. Works very well for me on trashed resi carpets. Haven't had any problems with this method.
I wouldn't use the fiberplus pads on residential carpet that wasn't trashed though. |
