Duplex 420 - CRB scrubber.

I am interested to hear any reviews from anyone who has one of these machines?

Are they any good?

How well do they work encapping compared to oscillating machines?

Thanks very much,
Grant.

Hi Grant,

First time post for me from Australia - Shorty and I are 1600 miles apart, but seconds away by phone.

I hope I can shed some light on your questions with the 420.
I purchased this 1 year ago specifically for a carpet account in residential complex. The carpet in question is a 'ribbed' nylon carpet tile. I found that a rotary shampoo machine even with a brush to be not as effective as the CRB's. A lot less fatigue after an 8 hour stint. Payed for itself in 5 days.

Using the softest yellow brushes in their range I found it still flicks up a bit of pile even after a thorough vacuum first. Just keep it pretty wet. I like to prespray heavily ahead & just triclke a bit of water from the tanks.

The results are awesome. You can hover over a stained area, without damage - giving huge agitaton and quick results. Almost a good walking pace.

I'd refrain from using on wool due to the amount of wool that you'd need to clean off your CRB at days end. Every encap machine will have its pro's & cons, but a worthy inclusion.
Also great for small tile areas. Hope this helps. Stu.

Interesting that you should ask about the Duplex. Just this past week we were set up as distributors of the Duplex machines!

Thanks for your feedback on the Duplex Stu. (For those of you who don't know Stu yet - he's a very sharp guy - he and I have been in touch via e-mail on a number of occasions)

I agree with Stu's suggestions - that you should pre-spray the carpet with your encap detergent first, and then feed a small amount of detergent through the machine as you're scrubbing. (This technique applies to the Sprint machine too)

I'm impressed with the design and the performance of the Duplex machine. If you'd like one of these machines, we can get you one at a very good price. Give us a call if you're interested.

Rick, I also live in Australia (Canberra), so I will probably contact our local distributor, thanks anyway.

Thanks again!
Grant.

Thanks Stu,

Very decent of you to give up your time. I always feel uncomfortable asking for advice when I cannot offer anything in return. You were very helpfull.

Thanks very much.

Grant.

Hey Grant & all,

Sorry to bore all the others with the 'Grant & Stu show' but;
asking others for advice is a learned skill.
People & the world in general are itching to give up their information. The human race's is wired to help one another, (provided that we're on the same page) so to speak.
That's why Rick's forum rocks!
That's how I've learnt so much by sitting back & reading posts here for many years. Now I'm confident to reciprocate. Like-minded rug-suckers around the globe - how cool it that!

So we're both on our way to being more confident. I look forward to smiling down the phone line next time we talk.
It's a win win.
