quoting a 8 month old daycare center. The client is a past residential client.. the areas to be cleaned are 2 infants room with carpet and VCT, a area for toddlers and 2 areas for preschooler. did not see or notice any smells the building is new.

the carpet is in good over condition.. they vacuum almost daily and most floors are VCT in halls and areas in teh room near sinks, bathrooms etc..

in talking with the owner about different methods she mentions "they" said it should be HWE for sanitary..

My question to forum is Hydrox or any other encap product have enough of a sanitizing property that might calm her down enough to do encap instead of hwe. or maybe a blend of hwe in infants.

are they are test or papers on the use or need for hwe on daycares.

We do lots of day care centers most every weekend we are in a few of them.
If infants or toddlers are going to be crawling around on them
we extract, common areas encaped, but twice a year extracted.

Think about it baby barf, a little wizz now and again, maybe some poo the baby sitter did not get completely out.

Do you want an infants toy to roll around an encaped carpet that has not been vacuumed yet? kids drools on the toy it hits the carpet and goes in its mouth. I know I am PARANOID.

I scrub with Orbot then extract with plain hot H2O.
in areas with little ones. Having had 7 of them i know what they can get into.

Office and common area i see no problem with encaping.
7 years and no problems so i am sticking to this way.

David is right and that's the way we do them. Any area that children are crawling needs to be flushed w/HWE, No Exceptions! I love my Cimex, but it is not the answer for all carpet cleaning problems.
