| Just got a New Orbot, first job I used it on was 74,000 sq ft.
I knew then we got a job that big that the one Cimex I had was not going to quite cut it. I have read all the posts between Orbot vs Cimex in big commercial cleaning, most of them lean towards the Cimex, but I was just intrigued with the Orbot, so that's the route I went.
I was planning on using the Mex on the big areas and path ways and the Orbot in the cubes and on from there, I was wrong.
The problem with that set up was the Orbot sprays off the front which means you need to pull the unit back farther to spray the carpet which means you need more room, and when you work into a cubical it is very easy to spray the computer tower that is setting on the floor.
We switched or plan up and it worked great.
The Cimex with it feeding chem thru the heads worked great in the cubes.
Now my great surprise, I had read the posts on closing the flow valve some on the Orbot, which worked great in tight areas, but what was great at 6'3" I could open the valve all the way, put one a max pad and just flat out fly. I could not believe how fast I could take out the isles and open areas, it was great. I used an over lapping pattern so it all got double scrubbed, it turned out looking great.
In Review:
Cimex: more maneuverable and scrubs a little better
Orbot: more versatile and flat out flys
The next machine I will add will be another Cimex, but that Orbot is great in the mix.
Sorry for the rambling post, just some of my observations.
74,000 sq ft, 1 Cimex, 1 Orbot, 3 men, 31 hours, Done.
Make it a great Day.
Thanks

Brsd,
Thanks for the review on the Orbot! It's great to hear that it worked as well as it did for you
The Orbot is a SWEET machine with design and styling that's second to none! It's a super smoooooth machine.
Keep up the good work - and please keep us posted relating your experience with the system.

Fantastic overview, Did you know you can adjust the with of the spray as well as where the spray hits? I am sure you do,when I do cubicals I put the spray just hitting the pad, or in front a bit more and stop spraying just before I hit the computer tower.
I always keep the value full tilt these days, so I have enough juice to get a good pass. If we are doing a big job I will use my 320 speed rotary to do the cubicals for the same reason you used the Cimex though.
Are you using a glide under the Max pad?

74,000 sq.ft. in 31 hrs! I'm kinda ashamed to share my 5 hr. conquest of 2500 sq.ft. with the Mex. It should be 2500 sq.ft in 1 1/2 hrs. Oh well, I'll be content with $100.00 per hr. The good thing is that it all go's to me. (no Helper)
I've been trying to make $100.00 Per hr. since 3 years ago when hearing Rambo make mention thats what he does. Finally did it!
Good Job Brad! Thats awesome |

The Orbot is one of my favorite machines. What I like about it most is it is kinda like a runt, people get it because they like the size and the way it looks, then it totally blows them away when it does to work of the big dog! |

David, Im glad you mentioned that about adjusting the jets, I literality took it out of the box and started cleaning.
Al, That was the first job we have done of that size, I was really happy to be able to run right at 2,400 sg ft an hour.
93 man hours adds up quick.
Thanks

Now that's cleaning some square footage!
I hope you took a nap and maybe a lunch break or two. |
