Cimex trouble

May 28 2009 at 8:17 PM

Tried to use my Mex today and it refuses to turn the pads. Lift the head and they turn fine, set it down on the carpet and they won't. I don't hear a belt slipping, just a hum of the motor trying to turn.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Make sure there is plenty of solution on the carpet and the pads.

You will not hear the belt slipping. If you haven't change it ever or in a very long time, then the first thing I would suggest you do is order another one first. End of Cimex trouble!

If you can't wait for a new belt just turn it over and you will get a few more hours out of it!!!

Cimex update

May 30 2009, 11:04 PM

I tried the Mex again, and after what seemed like a lot of solution flowed, it started scrubbing as normal. I have changed the belt once in 3 years, about 1 year ago. I'm thinking that I had a flow problem. I'm going to flush the system before replacing the belt, just to make sure.

Thanks for the input guys.

Did you have an extension cord on the machine? If it is not the belt then that is usually the issue, insufficient power.
