Transmission fluid

I have a very dear friend who takes care of another dear elderly friend. The elder's wheel chair leaked tranny fluid all over the bone white carpet. 3 weeks dwell time.

Today I mixed 16 oz punch presprayed with sprint crb and scrubbed. dwelled 10 minutes. Extracted with SD. Quarter size stains were now pink. Tommorrow I will go back apply Encap-Spot dabb with white towel. Then enap with DS and Cimex

All I could think about is the experience Rick gave about the sump oil. Any sucess with this type?

Alex,

If a "pink" stain remains you may have a color transfer from the tranny fluid. So after removing the oil, you may also need to address the color stain. Red Relief could take care of this for you.

Hope it works for you!

Oh good!

Wasn't sure if it would work on oil, but only dirnks ect. I have some of that in my bag that I purchased from you. I'll try the encap spot first pthough.
Thanks so much.

Yep. Here's the way to tackle any kind of "stain". A stain is a coloration that has affected the fiber. It's different that a "spot" which is soil that is on the outside/surface of the fiber. Be sure to under-promise when it comes to "stains" because once the color of the fiber has been affected, it's possible that you may never get it completely perfect.

Here's the process for dealing with stains:
(1) Get rid of the oily/soil condition first. You can use your normal encap procedures for this.
(2) Then go after any residual staining with the appropriate stain product. Use the spotting product sparingly. Extract or possibly blot up the spotter with a towel.
(3) You can then follow up with Encap-Spot to remove any residue from the stain remover.

Wishing you success!

We have a customer that rebuilds transmissions for about a dozen transmission shops in Houston. This way the transmission shop will take out the old one and replace it with one on their shelf and then send to old one to be rebuilt at this guys shop. The guys office area gets trashed with all kinds of grease and transmission fluid etc. He usually only wants it cleaned when it gets real bad too. So we will take a Cimex with Releasit DS mixed at 8 oz a gallon and scrub the carpet real good and get out the gum. After this it looks ok but not good enough so we bring in our Butler and extract the carpet real well and use extra dry passes. Then we go back over it with the Cimex / Releasit combo and it turns out great. We do charge extra for this though.

I would imagine on the pink stain that is left that you are talking about you might have to use something like red relief to finish getting the pink out. Good luck.

Even Better Results

June 30 2009, 10:51 PM

Today I made a second attempt to get rid of the tranny stains.

First: I cleaned around the stains with Cimex/DS

Second: I made a million dry passes over the stains pulling the moisture from surrounding areas.

Third: I mixed 6oz.DS/6oz.water Sprayed stains with it and made more dry passes until desired results.

The desired reults? Almost invisable! I was out of time.
