cimex problem

July 6 2009 at 3:11 PM
Bill Youmans

hi everyone, just had my first little problem with my cimex in 3 years. The solution lever has some play in it, about half the way up, where there is no tension to it. The metal rod going down the shaft of the machine looks a little bent, but it has been that way for a while. Is it that maybe the solution lever is spring loaded and has broken? Have any of you guys had this happen?

thanks all
Bill Y

Take the lower block off the machine where the rod goes and lifts the plunger off the feed tube. When you open the blue block you will see the rod threads into a brass housing with ridges on it to keep in place in the plunger end, mine was about 1/2 way out of the blue housing. Simply clean with alcohol, apply Gorilla Glue let set overnight and reassemble unit. I did order a replacement block very inexpensive, however haven't needed it yet
