I owned one. The commercial Royal is very durable. It looks a lot like a Kirby, but it's a much better machine than a Kirby! I liked the one that I owned. But it is not a modern vacuum. It's a very dirty machine, and it's soil recovery is not up to par with modern commercial vacuum cleaners.

I live Royal vacuums, but I am bias as we are distributor.

Rick is rite some of the models are dirty machines.

The new more light weight ones are much better machines and way less dirty. I usually use the commercial lite, but they make several models

Royal Vacs

I got my 1028Z for under $400 new. Great for some things, unbeatable suction, nice beater bar. REALLY loud, and average brush action. I always wore hearing protection when using it. I got sick of it so now I use a Proteam vac. It is a good vac though and should give decades of service with few problems.

You know I got to thinking tonight, I have never owned a vac with a beater bar always brush rolls.
