Sexy!

My wife thinks the new "Big
Boy Wheel Kit" from Excellent Supply are Sexy. Thanks Guys. Some instructions with them would be nice. I figured it out but I had to fall back on my training as an Engineer. Do not bang on the new stainless steel axle with a hammer like I did. You will end up fileing the axle round again. Of course I did it on Saturday when the "Tampa Two" (Rick & Drew) were off. Overall, a very nice addition to the Mex.

I'll keep this in mind when mine arrives.

So instead of pounding it, how do you get the axle in?

Installing the Big Boy wheel kit.

Sorry guys that we didn't make an instruction pamphlet for the kit. Here is the best way to install your wheel kit.

Tools needed:

Wood blocks, Claw Hammer, adjustable wrench or 19mm wrench, Pliers, C Clip remover Pliers, WD40.

First block up the blue lift fork arms of the machine so the wheels are off the ground. Then take the claw hammer and remove both hubcaps with the claw side of the hammer. Next remove the Sellock Pin at the top of the Swivel Clamp Rod using a set of standard pliers. Prop the handle of the machine up some how so it doesn't fall. Remove the Swivel clamp rod with an adjustable wrench or 19mm open end boxed end wrench. Remove both wheels and the axle should slide out, if it does not use the WD40 as a lubricating aid. Clean the Lift fork holes with the WD40 and slide the new stainless steel axle in place. reinstall the swivel clamp rod. Then put both wheels on the machine (you will need to install the washers between the lift fork and the wheel bearing for proper centering of the axle)! Use the c clamp remover pliers to install the c clip and it is finished!

We figured as smart as you are Ray that you wouldn't need an explanation wink.gif

Glad to hear that you figured it out. The whole process is really pretty simple. The explanation posted above makes it sound harder than it truthfully is. Here's my simplified version... Remove the old wheels, slide out the old axle, slide in the new axle, install the new wheels --- budda-bing budda-boom you're done. happy.gif
