Do building managers let you know whether you got the bid or not or just totally ignore you? I would think a simple letter saying "Thanks for your bid but we have decided to go with another company." No wonder some of these buildings have filthy carpets and want cheap. They have no Courtesy to the cleaners that will do the best job for a fair price.

I agree with Derek. I've never had any building manager contact me to tell me that they chose a different option.

I don't think it's human nature to contact a sales person that you decided not to use. If I were shopping around for an appliance for my home, I'm not likely to go back and tell the first guy why I didn't purchase from him. I don't think our customers are likely to do that either.

I can understand not going back to a store but you would think they would at least let you know what's going on. Mr. Corporate guy was in town the week of the 10th to discuss other things besides the carpet cleaning. This building was filthy 35,000 sq ft & last cleaned (that's a laugh) for only $2500 & they got what they paid for. I called & left a message to call me back or at least send an e-mail. I'll just move on to the next one.

Derek,,,

I didn't quit. I called the lady the other day & left a voice message just to let me know if they wanted me to clean for them. I don't care if they picked someone cheap cause the carpet will not get clean. I live in upstate central NY which is a real dump area whether it's commercial or residential most people don't care what they live in or work in. My wife & I still think everyday if we should still make the jump back to Florida. Wish I would have taken some pictures but you guys should have seen this dump I cleaned a couple of weeks ago. Guy comes to the door in his underwear. I go in this pigpen and the bathtub is full of cigarette butts, toilet filthy, hangers on the floor, dishes piled up & the roaches are having a ball. I cleaned this small living room rug & real small kitchen rug. This was a pay up front cash only job. The guy was happy for what I could do for him & he said, see ya next year. Yeah sure!
