... and you thought Rick's freight charges were high

Wouldn't you hate to pay the freight on the item in the pictures below. The company across the street from our shop manufacturers large items for the oilfield and other industries. The trailer in the pictures below is one of, if not the longest trailer in the United States. It carries very large / heavy loads. They had a truck out in front of the trailer. The truck and trailer has a driver and two people controlling the trailer and it is pulling another tractor, then there are two more support vehicles that follow it and it is all escorted by three motorcycle police. I don't think all that is cheap. Here's the pics.

Wow! That is impressive.
Thanks for sharing those pictures.
I never even knew such a thing existed.

Speaking of our shipping charges...

We have a couple of policies in place to help take the sting out of shipping costs...

(1) We take the UPS Ground rates and cut them in half (on all orders under $300). In other words, we eat half of the shipping charges so that our customers can get a nice break with half-priced shipping.

(2) On (non machine) orders over $300, we absorb all of the cost for shipping. We pick up the entire tab on shipping orders over $300 so that our customers get free shipping on larger orders.

(3) On Cimex orders we also cover the entire cost of freight to any commercial address in USA. That normally represents a saving to the customer (and a cost to us) of $150 - $200 per machine.

There's no way around it, shipping costs are expensive! But by covering a lot of the costs incurred, we're hopefully making it a little easier for our customers to order from us. You'll never pay more than 1/2 of the shipping costs on any order. And on larger orders the shipping is free happy.gif

That truck is comparable to the ones that Beyel Bros. use down in Florida. They have trucks with 19 axles. They do a lot of work with FP&L. They have a pic on their site hauling in P.A. only 473,000 pounds. beyel.com
