Encapping with Punch

November 2 2009 at 10:02 PM
Walt

Saturday afternoon we were working on a commercial job and ran out of DS. So, I started mixing up Punch in the Cimex. It seemed to work fine except that I had to use a lot more. Is there any problem doing this? If my memory serves me well, you can encap with any Release product?

Thanks,

Walt

Because Punch isn't designed to foam up like DS does, it's hard to tell if you are using the right amount. It also seems like the foaming action allows you to make more dry passes over the same DS solution you put down on the initial wet pass.

In addition, it seems like DS is more slippery thus making it easier for the pads to go over the carpet.

I don't think there is anything wrong with using Punch to encap with alone. It just may be a little bit harder.

Thomas nailed it. I couldn't add anything or improve on what he said above.
