Went for a couple of drives

Couple of days ago, I had to drive up to the Atherton Tablelands.

This is the plateau above Cairns that is part of the Great Dividing Range.

It was fairly memorable for me in that I hadn't been up there for several years, then I realised, next Australia Day week-end, (26th January), it will be eleven years since I broke my leg up at Lake Barrine.

This is going up the Gillies Highway, fantastic run on my Suzi Virago 1100 until the **** hit the fan. wink.gif

After realising that I broken my leg and crumbled my knee, (and my mate reckoned it was only dislocated and gave it one almighty jerk, the jerk), I got back on my bike and rode to Atherton hospital, ( about 25 klms ), where they x-rayed it and put a splint on.

I then got back on my bike and rode the 80 clicks ( 50 miles ), back down to Cairns, stopping at the Mountain View Hotel for a coldie on the way.


Ahh, what a trip down memory lane. happy.gif
