Cimex ?

March 31 2010 at 8:02 PM
Eric

I have an older Cimex and it works great. Recently one of the on positions on the switch won't start the machine. It starts and runs fine from the other on position. It turns counter clockwise great, but does not want to start clockwise. It this a switch issue or something more. I am pretty handy, jut don't want to start putting parts on not knowing if it will fix the problem

Thanks
Eric Olsen

Yes, it is the switch. And unfortunately the switch is a bit complicated, unique, and fairly costly to replace. If you can live with it running only in the counter-clockwise motion - I would just leave it that way if it were me.

Just curious,

How common is it that a switch go bad. And what can I do or not do, to cause pre-mature wear?

Thanks,

I think we've replaced maybe one or two switches after selling hundreds upon hundreds of machines. In other words, it's not likely to wear out. Don't worry about it.

my Cimex must be one of the best ones made.
