Sorry Bruce. It was accidentally marked "private". Oops! I changed the setting and now it's available to view.

BTW, my comments in this video are what I've observed from trying different approaches to marketing. Your mileage may vary, but this is what has worked for me. Hope the suggestions are helpful you as you guys promote your commercial carpet cleaning businesses. Wishing you success!

Thanks Rick!

LOVE the videos! I always look forward to the next one...One question, being in Florida just like you are, I'm always concerned about walking in to a potential client all dripping wet w/ sweat...I know you mentioned using a long sleeve shirt, which looks more professional, but how do you get around not looking like you just walked out of a sauna?!

Thanks

Joe

PS I'm going to submit some photos from a Japanese restaurant I cleaned yesterday, I couldnt believe my eyes when I finished....

Joe the answer to the question is AIR CONDITIONING - it's the only way to survive in Florida. You go from your air conditioned vehicle to the air conditioned building. The walk across the parking lot is not enough distance to get drenched with sweat (at least not for me).

Speaking of sweating. It's really weird when we're at the Las Vegas Connections show. The temperature in Vegas has been well over 100 degrees sometimes, and we can walk around outdoors all afternoon and not get a drop of sweat on us. By comparison, in Florida you could walk around for half an hour in the 90 degree heat and look like you've just stepped out of a sauna. It's on account of the humidity. In Vegas the moisture dries as soon as it comes through your pores. In Florida, the sweat can't escape because it's so humid and it just clings to your skin. It's really a weird experience to be in Vegas heat and still be dry - I guess that's how they came up with the name for the anti-persperant "Arid Extra Dry".

I always say that Florida confirms that evolution does NOT exist; because if it did exist Floridians would have evolved and grown gills - since they live their lives breathing water all day long. 98% humidity every day. It's like living your life under water. LOL

Good Point Rick....

May 6 2010, 2:08 PM

There are times that I do walk between buildings in a large office park and worry about looking like I just went swimming - Maybe I should just drive between buildings even if theyre close to get some A/C!

I feel for you guys in Tampa, MAN does it get hot there! My brother in law was stationed over at Mcgill for a while, and he said it was miserably hot...At least here near Jacksonville it's not so bad, but can still get muggy!

BTW, is the Oil slick headed you way? Havent kept up with the news...

I carry spare spare dress cloths and a suite too.
I can change from cleaning cloth to work cloths when i need to stop by a prospects building or when i need to visit a client, heck i have even cleaned in a suit and tie.

I don't believe any of my clients commercial or residental have seen me dressed any lower then a nice set of dockers and a dress shirt with my logo on it, and walking shoes
