Cimex Pad Drivers - Old -vs- New

i bought a barely-used newer Cimex a couple weeks ago. today i noticed that these pad drivers are quite different that they were 6 years ago.

the old style on my 6 yr Cimex were solid velcro on the bottom, for full pad contact.

the new style has about a 3" diameter circle missing in the center of the pad driver, for less pad contact.

i am wondering why Truvox did this, and is it to my benefit? the only possible bene i can see is that the outer 2.5" ring, which has pad contact, is carrying more weight. which might = more aggressive scrubbing...tho i am no physics major.


any opinions or answers out there?

They're using a different vendor for the drivers. They're actually on at least the third vendor that I'm aware of, since I started selling Cimex about 10 years ago.

Not sure why they've made the changes in driver vendors, but I have seen that the current drivers are performing well. Beyond that, I don't have any more info on their choice in pad drivers. These drivers are what they're sending now. And folks have been satisfied with the current drivers. I think you'll be pleased with them too.
