Water marks

July 21 2010 at 1:08 PM
Matt

We clean for a dentist that has water marks around the workstations. When we encap the marks are gone and it looks great. However they come back in 2-3 weeks. They are the same stains not new stains.

How can I make them gone for good?

Thanks!

We use Releasit DS. How much Hydrox to keep the water mark gone?

Thanks!

Hydrox and Realisit?

I thought that Hydrox was not supposed to be combined with anything except Encap Spotter.

I'm outta my water here, but....

I have read of others using Hydrox with Releasit with success.

We don't get Hydrox in Australia. sad.gif

However, I do have access to a product called Chemox which I think maybe very similar to Hydrox.

It is based on a stable Hydrogen Peroxide.

I use it in the tank at approx; 100:1

250ml to 25 litres

I have had no problems and the water marks do disappear and not return.

I have also mixed it 10:1 and pre-sprayed an bad area prior to encapping with great results.

Check this out for more info on Hydrox.

Hope that helps and doesn't confuse you.

Mixing Hydrogen Peroxide with any traditional Encap Polymer will NOT work. Sure, people say they've done it. And backyard chemists blow their heads off sometimes too. wink.gif

A typical Encap Polymer is tolerant of a pH range between neutral and moderately alkaline. Hydrogen peroxide requires an acid base. This can create a problem since Hydrogen Peroxide calls for an acid environment, however an Encap Polymer can't tolerate acid. So something has to give. That's why we use a modified polymer in Encap-HydrOx. It can tolerate the 3.5 acid pH of Encap-HydrOx.

Now if you want to correct watermarks and/or browning - picture a combination of a 3.5 pH acidic detergent with the oxygenating properties of Hydrogen Peroxide. Voila! You have Encap-HydrOx. It's what we recommend for any kind of browning. It works great for this.

Oh and leave the chemistry to the guys in the white coats who are experts in the field happy.gif
