A contractor aquaintence of mine that uses SS doesn't seem to be able to get the cgd clean in his show room where a clear traffic lane protector was put down during an open house. Two 20 ft. strips in 2 separate rooms. Will the Cimex and DS do the job?

Eeeks! That stuff can be hard to remove. It may require bonnet cleaning with a solvent based cleaner first if the problem is severe. And it sounds like it's been cleaned with HWE already, so the soiling condition may be fairly embedded.

We have heard from cleaners who have successfully removed the adhesive residue from "protective" film using the Cimex and Encap-Clean DS. But since this one has been there for a while and has been attempted to be cleaned, it may not come out.

Use hot water. Pre-treat with Encap-Punch. Then SLOWLY make multiple passes with the Cimex. There's no need to apply loads of solution with the Cimex - just make 1 wet pass, followed by multiple dry passes.
