Rotary tank size

Hi,

I'm going to get a solution tank for my 20" rotaty and had a questions in regards to the size of the tank. I have seen 2.5, 3, 3.5 and 4 gallon tanks. I was concern in the way the machine would handle with a four gallon since i'm not that expererience, i was thinking of getting a 3 gal, thinking it may be easier to maneuver around.

I guess the decision would be between a 3 gal and a 4 gal, any thoughts would be appreciated.

SOLUTION TANK

I have a 4 gal tank on my 175 17". It's no problem.
Let the handle down and rest just below your waist a little bit.
The machine will drive itself. You should be able to go side to side and make figure 8's and after awhile you will be able
to run the machine with one hand and shoot your video with the other. Make sure the tank is empty before going up any stairs.

Thanks Charles,

Would you think that a 3 gal tank may be too small? since I was thinking that if i put 3 gals in the tank it may need room to sloush around.

buy the 4gal

Buy the 4 gal, take the splash lid/strainer and chain it to the rotary (if you ever use one with out it you'll thank me later). Fill it and goto work.

It might not seem like much, but, 1 extra gallon every fill up in 3 fill ups you've got as much juice as 4 with a 3 gal tank. Less down time means more production time. That means more cash for your pocket.

Thanks Guys,

Very goood point on the extra fill ups, i didn't think it would be a big difference but it is. I'll follow your advise on the chain as well.

I've had 3 lost by employees. It's a real PIA with the BOOST stripper.

Lids

Hi George,

You know most of the tanks that i'm looking at don't have a lid. Actually they kind of have a large opening, but i see your point on the lid and the chain.

Hi Charles,

I thought he was talking about attaching the lid to the machine via a small chain to prevent misplacing. Any way I'll email you maybe you can send me a link. Thanks.

Exactly, mine have little strainers that stop the splash with a full tank. These boneheads feel it's easier to fill without the splashguard/lid/strainer. So, they take them off and manage to lose them almost immediately. So, I say hook a chain to it and keep them. Makes less mess and speeds up the process.
