[A Customer Sent An E-mail Asking A Question About Tar Removal]
I thought I'd share the answer for all of you here:

Have a regular encap client where asphalt repairs were being made in the parking lot.

Customer walked through them with his work boots and tracked all through the store.  We're not talking tar "spots" but rather fully formed foot prints.

Any suggestions for dealing with this large volume of very large spots?

A simple 3 step process will get the job done. We've cleaned MANY tar spots this way. This same technique works well for most STICKY substances on carpet fiber...

1. Freeze the tar and chip off as much as you can. A lot of the tar on the surface can be removed with the freezing method.

2. Use a small amount of CTI ProSove Gel to emulsify the tar residue that is still sticking to the fiber (a drop or two is all that's needed). Blot up the tar residue with a terrycloth towel.

3. Apply Encap-Spot to the spot and blot it with a terrycloth towel. The Encap-Spot will pick up the solvent residue and any remaining tar discoloration.

Give it a shot. This is a very effective way to remove roofing tar as well as asphalt tar.
