Bookoo foam!

Let me set the stage:

CGD inside a local store inside a local mall.
10-15 years old. Worn but not torn.

Mixed DS at normal ratio...sprayed as usual and foam galore!

Is it safe to assume it was from a previous clean?

Owner 'said' it had not been cleaned in the last year and it seemed as if maybe never.

How long do foaming agents last!?

I swear it looked like I was pulling up shaving cream or something.

But they looked great when the foam died out. Trashed the fiber max pad.

Phil that is weird. Even if you mixed Encap-Clean DS on the strong side, you still would not get "bookoo foam". So it's can't be coming form your detergent. Sounds like something else is at play here. I'd lean toward residue from a previous cleaner. If the carpet is 10-15 years old, there's no telling what was in the carpet before hand. And since it's retail carpet in a mall it stands to reason that some hack went in there with some rat nasty shampoo and foamed the mess out of it at some point. But in spite of what was in the carpet it sounds like your final results turned out good with the Encap-Clean DS - cool!

Great!

I just circled back around on the locale and, yes, they look stellar!

Oh...guy across the hall told me "Some guys rented a buffer and tried to clean it themselves just a few months ago."

Ah ha. Therein lay the culprit.

that or a previous shop

There is always the joy of a bottle of shampoo being spilled. You haven't lived until you hit a spot of either shampoo or foaming hand soap.

Glad you got great results. Now, they can see the futility of their saving money.

Back when I first started cleaning carpets, I used a Rainbow Vacuum. The recovery tank has water in it, and this one place had so much soap residue, that just vacuuming caused my tank to foam out! Needless to say I had to use a regular vac after that.
