Hey Drew, when I spoke to you a couple of weeks ago, I thought you mentioned that the new Orbot has some design changes in the oscillator / counterweight assembly? Just wondering, because I find that the used Orbot I bought cleans well, but has some heavy vibrations coming thru the handles, so much that a couple of screws on the hinges came loose the other day! I checked the shaft and oscillator assembly for runout, but it's running true; it seems to me that there may be too much weight swinging around there and it's not counterbalanced correctly to the plate...

Maybe I'm wrong, it's just the engineer in me I guess!

Joe,

The new counterweight design does not have a pressed in bearing like to older ones. Your machine may be vibrating because the bearing is coming loose. You can fix it by denting the metal around the bearing to secure the bearing more tightly in the housing. It will need to be done on a bench without being attached to the machine. The new counterweight is held in by a retention collar that is secured with screws! If you would like the new style counterweight just give us a call!

Joe, make sure that the bolts are tight where the arms are attached to the deck. They need to be tight enough that you actually have a little difficulty tilting the head by hand.
If they are just a little loose you will have vibration out the wazoo!

I loosened the head so it flips up easy like my cimex - so that must be the problem!
