Said I wouldn't be back for a week.

But somethings happened & it's all about to hit the fan.

Cyclone Yasi, biggest cyclone in living memory in Queensland, is due to hit Cairns tomorrow (Wednesday) evening.

At the moment it's travelling at about 45kmh with an eye that will take about an hour to pass over Cairns.

They estimate it will be at least a category 4, same as Cyclone Larry that blew through Innisfail four years ago, and Cyclone Tracey that devastated Darwin on Christmas Eve 1974.

Will give you more as I hear it and we still have power.

That is just horrible!!!

As if you Aussies weren't already having enough troubles.
You guys haven't even gotten sorted out from the flooding yet, and now this!

Having lived in Florida all my life, I've seen how destructive these big storms can be. I am so sorry to se this heading your way. Let's hope it misses you guys. I hope and pray for the best all our fiends in this tropical paradise.
