soot removal

This week we have been removing soot from UPH and rugs due to a flue slamming shut with a fire burning while the home owners were out for the day.


We used Hydrox for the UPH and stair runners with a Microfiber mitt then rinsed damp towels.I could not believe all the junk in the mitts, towels and buckets. The Hydrox worked better then anything we tested before doing the entire run. Running hoses in this house was not an option as it should be classified as a museum of African, and middle eastern artifacts.

When I seen safe for wool on the Hydrox label it made my day for sure.

Removing the rugs to bring into the shops the other week was oh so much fun, but replacing them took way longer.

I am glad we are done.

58 rugs and 7 rooms of furniture later I can take a breath or two.
