i was just wondering if adding some passes with tuway bonnets and also placing an airmover on the affected area of the recurring spill once you have done all of the other steps of rick g's method would add any benefits or harm? thanks in advance.

Absolutely. Bonnets, fans, air movers, cranking the AC, opening the doors and windows - anything you can do to accelerate the drying process will help with possible wicking.

However the spill stain trick that I've outlined many times here will go after the deeply embedded residue that's hiding down at the base of the carpet. And if the spill stain treatment is applied as outlined - the problematic spill stain can be corrected entirely and the issue of a recurring spot can be eliminated.
