| I am doing mostly CGD jobs but I was asked to clean a family room in a home. I normally use DS in my CGD jobs, love the fact that I can carry half as much chem when we travle.
I spotted with Releasit spotter and I pre sprayed with Hydrox, there where food stains, pet unrine and dirt dragged in from the garage. I did not agitate the Hydrox, I just let it dwell for 10 min. I then used my Cymex with Hydrox and Odercide in the tank. Finally I used cotton bonnets on the Cimex and the plush green carpet came out very nice. 48 hours later and still no wicking. It did dry allot slower than my CGD so I put fans on it, no AC in the house on a humdi pouring down rain day. Probably took 5 hours to dry but the end product was nice.
So should I have agitated the Hydrox pre spray beforeI brought the Cimex in?
For general pre spray in traffic areas and such with Punch or DS, how much pre spray do you apply and how do you know when enough is enough prespray? I want to remain VLM!
When you prespray with Punch or DS, especially in traffic lanes, how soon after applying the prespray before you run the Cimes over the area? I am told you dont want the Punch or DS to dry, so do I wait a min or just prespray and turn around and run the Cimex over it right away?
When my guys are vacuuming I have them wear a belt that contains gum remover and scraper, a bottle of DS mixed for prespray and a small pot brush. They prespray in small areas and agitate it, and the have to spray and agitate after removing gum. Then we Cimex later, thats ok becuase I already agitate the Ds prespray correct??
Finally, Coffe Stains!! Some of them come out with DS or punch, I think that is because they use so much milk, syrup and ice and only a small shot of coffe in many of the drinks. I do get full out coffe stains at every store. Right now I prespray with a coffee/brown out prespray. After that I have to drag the extractor in and extract the spots, when you scrub it just spreads. Any insight into what you all do for coffe stains? I use Punch and DS on my CGD big box store jobs. I use Hydrox on residential and any CGD in offices, hallways, etc, where I have the time to let it dwell before I Cimex.
YOur comments on prespray methods and coffee stain removal is apreciated, thanks. |

Paul,,,
Do you have a 175? I use mine on every job with a white floor pad.
The only carpet solution I use are Encap Basic & Encap D/S.
I just bought some spotting chems which I will download a few pics & show you guys how this came out. I think using a 175 in a house is better than a Cimex. Easier to work with. With any kind of urine I always HWE afterwards. If the dog just had a small spot I would only encap but customers will always say the dog only peed once on the rug. Yeah about 50 gals worth. Encap on a homeowners carpet would be applied the same as any other rug. Light white on top and you are good to scrub. Warn the people too that some carpets might slightly become a little stiff after drying. Just vacuum out.
Here is a Tip for everyone: If you do an estimate, always take a quart spray bottle ($$$$ Store) filled with 50/50 water & D/S, microfiber towel, brush and perform test spots. That way you will know ahead of time that the stains will come out. I always pre-test every carpet, residential or commercial. It SELLS the job! |
