Coarse carpets

Shorty

I have a problem and hope someone here can help. sad.gif

Iv'e been cleaning this large retail store for some time and it's really the only job I don't look forward to.

It's located in a very busy shopping mall.

The actual problem is the carpet, it's a really coarse polyprop with small ridges.

Normally on a job this size, I could clean it twice with one set of pads.

It should take no longer than three hours.

This takes me 4-5 hours and three sets of pads, either type.

Plus leaving bits of pad everywhere. sad.gif

I haven't tried the brushes but I don't think they would "cut the mustard".

Would an Orbot be any better.??

If so, what pads or bonnetts would you use. ??

Would it be feasible to add a weight set for this carpet. ??

I know little about the Orbot, so I'm thinking out aloud here and tossing ideas to the smart people.. happy.gif

For the price, and time spent, I can't do the job twice in the one night and another helper is going to take the cream away.

Looking forward to some interesting dialogue & constructive criticism wink.gif

Thanks, now it's 07:00 I better get to work quicksmart, sad.gif

Shorty.

Shorty,

I have never seen so many sad faces in one of your posts before. In fact I would have thought that was impossible for Shorty. So I can see that this situation really must have you flustered.

You need a set of the 4805 brushes: http://www.excellent-supply.com/4805-Firm-Cimex-Brushes-set-of-3-for-19-inch-Cimex-Machines-Floor-Care-and-Commercial-Carpet-Cleaning_p_23.html The 4805 brushes are VERY STIFF. They can be used for tile & grout cleaning. And they are useful for very rigid textured commercial olefin carpet. For example we have used them on ribbed olefin matting. These brushes are what you need to clean a coarse carpet, and to turn that frown into a smile again.

Wooooooooooo Hooooooooooooo

Thanks Rick, did they come out in Yellow previously. ??

I know I have a set of yellow ones downstairs which I have used on tiled floors.

I'll get a number (if possible). happy.gif

Otherwise I know a young bloke in Noosaville that can probably supply me. wink.gif

Thanks again, I'd like to keep this (very lucrative) job. happy.gif

Happy Shorty.
