| I dont own or use a truck mount. My Cimex and Releasit DS have worked very well for me. On those rare occasions where the carpets are loaded with dirt Ive been considering buying a self contained carpet extractor for under $2,000. One such as the Mytee Tracker SC-9 (17 Cleaning Path, 100 psi, and 3 stage vac motor 100 cfm) from Excellent Supply, or something like it. Has any of you folks used this one or a similar machine? With good results, or would I be wasting my money?
Thanks,

I have the same situation, i use encap for both residential and commercial and have tossed the idea around that i should buy a trailor to have a extractor of some sort with me. Like this week we got 5-6 inches of rain in about 2 hours so people had minor water in their basements and it would of been nice to have a large extractor to help out. Is there a good combination type machine to buy?? |

Mytee makes an M12 that we use...it is both designed for carpet cleaning and tile and grout, but also does a great job with flood extraction with a builtin pump out wich is important!!!
We have used our Demon XL20 for several years now and has done quite well, but some times the setup is a bit tacky for our residential customers, and sometimes the reach is a bit much for our commercial customers.
So, after some research, I purchased a PEX 500 by US products. The reasons for this was to have a clean looking machine that didnt have to hook up to a clients sink, but to be used on a limited basis as needed. It is super light weight, yet puts out tremendous heat, and decent suction. Also, the pump and vac can operate on one circut, one cord, upto 500psi. for situations you dont really need heat that bad. |

I really am hoping to find a self contained unit. One with a supply tank (heat not necessary), a recovery tank, and a squeegee. One with the capability of removing most of the dirt from a heavily soiled carpet. Then, after drying, cimex it with DS and/or Punch. I do commercial work with an occasional residential by request. Also I'm too old to be working the wand!

Ryan, I purchased a commercial wet/dry vacuum with squeegee and a compartment for tools and stuff. Some Yoga studios I clean have a CGD rubberized carpet by LEE with electrostaticly (?) applied fibers. I just flood it with water and squeegee it up. The units run about $600. Should work well for any minor flooded area. Good Luck.
