Hi, i was wondering if you could use 320 RPM for carpet cleaning and if it would have better results than the standard 175 rpm. this would be using a standard floor machine with 2 speeds. any feedback would be great i am trying to make a purchase today or tomorrow.

Yes you can. Just be sure to keep an eye on what you're doing making sure that you have sufficient lubrication using enough detergent, that you keep the machine moving, and that pile distortion doesn't occur. If you're careful and pay attention to what you're doing you should be fine.

A 175 would be a lot more on the safe side.

Been using a 320 speed for 15 years, no way would I go back to a 175, it is like being on tranquillizers. Quicker then OP you can crank out the sq ft per hour. Fiber plus pad or Thick Rubber Maid bonnets or those thin ones Rick sells all work great.

I use mine like people use Cimex. North to south wet then dry pass
