I dunno what you blokes do over there, but us Aussies find it very difficult to walk along the edge right next to the wall.

Generally it is only dust along the edges which the Die-soon takes care of.
Like I said, with wool or nylon, the carpet is groomed when finished, which evens it all out, including the corners.
Occasionally we will find where some liquid has been spilled, splashed or thrown onto the wall and run down into the carpet.
Then we may use our "Triangle brush", first given to me by Gary H Heacock about ten years ago at my first Connections in the Riviera.
I will generally run along the edge with a pump-up sprayer with my solution in, then hit it with the brush BEFORE running over it with Big Yella.
The solution in the pump sprayer is also what we use for cleaning upholstery.
Corners we treat the same way.
This brush has a small protruding piece on one end which I cut off flush to allow me to get right up against the wall as needed.
This brush is on a telescopic pole with a screwed end that we can swap over for a "doodle-bug", a flat piece of plastic with a red pad on it, or even a wider, firmer brush, but again, only if needed.
As an aside to this, "encap; in residential"................
I have to go and clean ONE BEDROOM in a $5M home in a couple of days, pure wool custom made carpet, which I will be using the Orbot on.
The owner doesn't want me taking Big Yella across her marble floors.
Her bedroom is the size of a small house here in Cairns, and this lady will NOT allow her carpet to be HWE by anyone.

I've been looking after her since the house was built about ten years ago, starting out with WDR in several rooms.
If you Google 21 Knott Court, Whitfield, Queensland, her bedroom takes up the entire bend on the left of the photo.
Cheers,
Shorty
PS::: I forgot about the socks

I think I can see where you're going with this, Marty has given up on me (I think)

Never yet had a complaint, maybe because people down under won't walk across damp carpet in their socks, or maybe they wear colored socks, I don't know.
I can't remember the last time I had white socks, and I know for a fact that I have never walked on damp carpet in my socks, let along checked them out after doing what I never did. HUH ???

In the tropics, first thing people do when they get home, is get their gear off and relax in the pool with a coldie.
Least that's what I'm about to do now.

Ooroo.
