We've always charged by the sq/ft for carpet cleaning and by the linear foot for upholstery cleaning.

I've never heard of charging by the linear for carpet cleaning but I don't know that it matters much how you get to a total.

We always charge by the square foot here also. Even when I worked for someone else and we had a contract to clean all the carpets at dorms on a college campus. There was lots of long hallways there and we always did sf.

Sq ft, how would you handle different width hallways? This week I've cleaned 3ft, 4ft, and 5ft hallways.
