DS2 Spill on VCT - Blue Ridge Floor Care - 01-05-2013
This must be my day for problems. One of my guys spilled some DS2 on newly refinished VCT flooring. It dried, and had to basically be scraped off. Plain water and neutral cleaner wouldn't remove it. Is there a magic elixir (or simple household cleaner) that will remove this dried product without dulling the finish on VCT should this happen again?

Sounds like it reacted with the floor finish. VCT floor finish can be impregnated fairly easily with chemicals of any kind. That's why it's only recommended to clean VCT floors with a neutral floor cleaner. It sounds like there was a reaction to the Encap-Clean DS2 (especially since it remained long enough to dry up). If it had been wiped up right away, I doubt there would have been any effect. But since it sat, it had more of an effect on the floor finish. Best advice - don't leave Encap-Clean DS2 on floor finish

Take some magic erase pads to the spot and then just re-coat that spot with a couple coats of wax.
