Upholstery Cleaning? - cleanerguy - 04-14-2019

How do you folks clean upholstery with Releasit , do you use Hydrox instead of the regular Releasit?

I am looking for the safest way to clean, should I use a truck mount or some special pad? I don't want to put myself in jeopardy
and cause damage.

Thanks

We use encap punch for upholstery. We use 5-6” palm car buffer, and bonnets. Safe, safe. Nothing wrong with hydrox of course, not necessary with straight cleaning. If you want to hwe, spray with punch and rinse. Safe

In addition to what Kenny mentioned above, encap cleaning with hand mitts is an easy way to clean upholstery using any of the Releasit products. Just dunk the hand mitt into a pail of Releasit solution, wring it out, and evenly wipe the upholstery. For sturdier upholstery (i.e commercial pieces) you could spray the solution onto the fabric and run over it with a Rota-Brush, or a Drill Driver with bonnets. These encap methods can be a simple and effective way to clean upholstery using less moisture. (Links below)

Drill Driver with bonnets is a good way, I think I need to try. How much moisture is needed for this? Does it work for a car upholstery too?

If you're using a Drill Driver, you just spray the surface with either Releasit Encap-Clean DS2, or Encap-Punch. Then run over it quickly with a dampened Tuway Or microfiber Glide bonnet. The Glide bonnet is the softest. Doesn't require much moisture (just slightly less than bonnet cleaning on carpet). Typically dries in about 20-30 minutes. And yes, it works on car upholstery too.

Additional options are the RotaBrush Plush drill brush. It's extremely soft. And it's more compact than the Drill Driver so it can get into tighter areas.

And finally, a third low moisture upholstery option is the Upholstery Mitt. Dunk the mitt into a bucket of Encap-Clean DS2, wring it out, and quickly wipe the upholstery. It works really well (better than you're probably imagining).

So many options to choose from and all of them are low moisture. For moderately soiled upholstery these low moisture methods work great. If the upholstery is tragically hammered, you may still need to rinse with HWE. However, even when cleaning a filthy piece, you can still benefit from the agitation step by using a RotaBrush Plush or the Drill Driver prior to extracting.
