whats your method with the cimex - leofry@1966 - 04-27-2013 silly maybe question, but do you try to stay going forward, or do you do a push pull method, I have to admit after using my 175 for a year or so that its taking me a little time to get used to the new cimex... i have to say that i am HARD TO Believe i know but i am must faster with the 175, i never fought the 175 i danced with it... so i am trying to get used to the cimex... i love it... but i guess i need more time using it RE: whats your method with the cimex - DON ELDRED - 04-27-2013 I compare to running a lawn mower The longer the grass { heavily soiled carpet] the slower you go Long runs as much as possible and back and forth in tight areas. RE: whats your method with the cimex - Rob D - 04-27-2013 When not to dirty I mow the lawn. If greasy dirty I tend to work it with wheel side to side does a great job but kinda defeats the design and purpose. I'm just alittle strange and results are more of a concern than labor RE: whats your method with the cimex - Derek - 04-27-2013 how i do it from mild soil to heavy: 1) lawn mower - walk forward for the wet pass then i walk backwards for the dry pass. 2) increase encap ratio and walk forward for the wet pass then i walk back and forward for 2 more dry passes. 3) throw my 35# weight belt on the top of the base plate and do step 2. step 3 does the best job for me on the nasties. RE: whats your method with the cimex - Rob D - 04-28-2013 Derek I like the weight belt idea.. Do you think that shortens life of motor? RE: whats your method with the cimex - Derek - 04-28-2013 it very well might, i don't use it often. probably shortens belt life as well. RE: whats your method with the cimex - P Cleaner - 04-28-2013 Wet pass down dry pass up. I am now pad capping and can see a large difference. I pad capp after i have done an area. 2 to 300 sqft. P Cleaner RE: whats your method with the cimex - leofry@1966 - 04-29-2013 I want to love the cimex and i do love parts of it so far but the first full day , i thought the 175 was much faster to use, mostly because i am have used it for over a year and i dance with that machine but also if you think about the pad under my 175 is covering more area but i am going to continue with the cimex and i am sure within a month i wont be able to live with out it...I do think the two jobs i did wit the cimex i will have to do over again RE: whats your method with the cimex - Rob D - 04-29-2013 I also used 175 and it will take some time to get use to the cimex...the cimex definitely has a more even cleaning and even brush distribution. Also better agitation... During the beginning to make yourself feel better pad cap after with your 175 RE: whats your method with the cimex - Derek - 04-29-2013 couple of things to keep in mind: Rick's pads are going to give better results than any brushes. don't over-wet the carpet. that seems to be a common problem for CC'ers who are new-to-the-Cimex. over-wetting doesn't look as good and the spots wick back just like HWE. RE: whats your method with the cimex - encapman - 04-30-2013 Here's a little video I made a few years back explaining how to run a Cimex... RE: whats your method with the cimex - leofry@1966 - 04-30-2013 Thanks for the video Rick... RE: whats your method with the cimex - SLOTOOLS - 04-30-2013 Rick, you get better with age.
