Removing yellowing from carpet - cleanclub77 - 05-04-2013

The school I work at have gray glue down carpet. The traffic lanes are yellowish. I was wondering would my Cimex and Releasit, Punch, Hydrox or any other encap chemical remove the yellowing and make the carpet look better?

Is it olefin? My guess is that it is. Light gray or light blue carpets can appear yellow from oil tracking. Often the oils from the parking lot can be tracked in. This leaves a yellow hue. And olefin is an oil loving fiber that attracts oil. That's why I'm assuming it may be olefin.

At any rate, Encap-Clean DS2 eats oil for breakfast. Give it a pre-spray with Encap-Punch, then clean with a little stronger mix of Encap-Clean DS2 at 6 oz per gallon. Use hot water. Use FiberPlus Max pads. And take your time to scrub a little more slowly, making some additional dry passes. This approach has worked well for this type of oil in the past.

Make sure to bring your camera. This job should produce some nice before and after shots. Let us know how you make out.
