Considering Cimex for purchase - harim1999 - 07-29-2013 Have done several commercials and another one (church) coming days later. I have been using 175 (12 " & 19") with piber plus pads/punch & hydrox, and now it's time to buy a rotary machine that is mainly designed for encap. But, I can't still figure out if there is a job quality difference (result) between 175 and Cimex. Just wanted to know before making an investment. Thanks! Considering Cimex for purchase - encapman - 07-30-2013 Quality difference? Not necessarily. You can get good results with a 175 rotary. It just takes more time. By comparison, a Cimex runs at 400 rpm. The Cimex has 3 times as many heads spinning more than twice as fast. So you're actually working with more than 6 times as much scrubbing power per pass. Added to that it's a planetary scrubber so as the drive deck turns clockwise, the drivers are spinning counter-clockwise. Bottom line: the Cimex will greatly improve your efficiency. You can scrub at a rate of 2K - 3K per hour with far less effort. And at the end of the day time is money. But you can get by with a rotary if you have to. Rick Gelinas The Encapman 1-800-330-1888 RE: Considering Cimex for purchase - David-Hebert - 07-30-2013 If I was going to buy a rotary for encaping it would be a 320 speed machine. ( been using one for years). You can put a spray system in to eliminate the splash by using gravity fed system if you need to. RE: Considering Cimex for purchase - Rob D - 07-30-2013 IMHO the cimex is worth every penny!! Having herniated discs in my lower back I can tell you a lot less effort with the cimex. I can use it all day and still function. If I use the rotary my back knows it...the cimex is much heavier but I use a ramp to get it in and out of vehicle. You literally just walk behind it with less effort than pushing a mower.... RE: Considering Cimex for purchase - jtmellon - 07-30-2013 Like Rick said as for a quality difference, No. Take it from a guy that has owned 3 Cimex machines. As for a speed difference, YES. And that is what you will get with the Cimex is speed. I use a 17" floor machine with tank. I have no large contracts that would make me need a Cimex. Now doing things like a casino or a hotel then yes I would buy one again. With my business I am mainly janitorial (office cleaning). Now if I was to go total commercial carpet cleaning I would have 4 tools on the truck: Cimex, Oreck Orbiter, a good portable HWE, and a good OP machine. Getting back to a 17" machine, I get the same results as I did with a Cimex, only dif is speed and the size of the tank. RE: Considering Cimex for purchase - harim1999 - 07-30-2013 Thank you for your answers. Really appreciate! I guess I will stick to my 175 until I have more commercial accounts. Thank you again !
