NOT Carpet - Flamin' lizards. - Shorty - 09-16-2013

Had a slight problem driving back home on Sunday arvo;

Had a bit of rain up the track and the crossing had gone under again.

No great problem, it happens all the time.

This time though, we decided not to get out half way for a cool swim as we usually do.

***** lizards think they own the creek.

You truly live in an interesting part of the world my friend! Smile

Looks like you need a bigger boat.

Boat? That's a road. The Aussies just drive across creeks as if it were nothing. Unless of course there's a giant croc lying in their path.

Sorry mate, but yes, Rick's right, that's the main road back to town.

Most times you just keep driving and they'll get out of the way.

I was fortunate to visit your fine country back when I was in the military. Stopped in Freemantle but made our way to Perth. Great memories. Kings Park had great views.

We traveled over there last March for a week.

I live on the east coast, up near the pointy bit, Cairns. Wink

Just jump out and touch his tail. He'll get a move on! Smile

YOU get out and touch his tail. Big GrinTongue

Salt water crocs are VERY different to fresh water crocs and alligators.

These ones have the same primeval survival instincts as the crocs in Africa.

They are not only opportunists, but also very cunning and may watch someone come to the same place for water every day, then just grab them when they least expect it.

FIVE crocs caught in Cairns this month SO FAR:

It's a way of life, but one DOES NOT get complacent. Dodgy

I don't like any of 'em! Crocs, gators, snakes, you can keep 'em! I bet my wife's meaner though. Smile

I would snuggle up to one of our Florida gators sooner than I'd stand a block away from an Aussie Croc. Those buggers are aggressive!
