I am probably wasting the crap out of cimex pads because I change them for every job just about no matter how small..
I just did a dentist office that was about 200 sqft..pads look food..should I be reusing them till they are flat or changing them out?

When I first started using the cimex I was doing the same thing. Talked to Rick about it and was told wait to at least a 1/4 in. left on pad then change. Today I wait for 1/8 left and then change. Just use them up you will get the hang of it as you work the cimex

Stop wasting money.
Use them until they nearly die.
And DON'T overuse the Releasit either.
FYI, the Gray pads, although they cost a little bit more, will give you about a 20% better clean.
I vary my pads depending on the job at hand.

Sad thing is I have been running cimexes for better than 6 years and we do a Lot of cimex work..just makes me feel weird bringing dirty pads on a new job..we did 2 jobs today and have another large cimex job tomorrow
I will tell the guys to run the same pads till they are thin..
I cringe at how many pads I wasted over the years...[KISSING FACE WITH CLOSED EYES]

I have no problems taking those "dirty pads" onto a new job.
The soil in the used pads has already been encapsulated.
You are at a new job because the carpets are soiled.
How long will your new pads stay clean when scrubbing soiled carpet.??
It's my belief that far too many people make too big a deal out of carpet cleaning.
Mostly it's just plain old common sense, with negligible rocket science involved.
Why compound a problem that really is not a problem??

How do you Cimex users go with getting hair in the pads? I ask because today I pulled a few boxes of pads that I use on my rotary out of the shed and tried to clean the hair out of them. These pads had plenty of life left in them but were matted up with dog/cat/people hair and I couldnt bring them in to a customers home.
Was somewhat success full they are good enough now to use on commercial jobs and probably saved myself a few hundred bucks.
The wise short one is right we all tend to over think things from time to time. I have dissected my methods ad nauseum and come to the conclusion that I know how to make customers happy and get paid.

Thanks for the nice words Simon, but, I CAN'T HELP YOU HERE.
Maybe if you have some spare carpet at home where you can wet them up and run them over the carpet, you may be able to remove them easily.
What I do, on completion of each job, and sometimes during the job, is, I tilt the head back so that it is vertical.
Many times you will see clusters of wet hair matted into the pad, especially in offices where many females work.
It is very easy to just pluck them out straight away.
As you know, on my Big Yella; I have two boxes at the rear for a couple of spotters, I simply drop those hair balls into one of the boxes until I'm finished and then dispose of them correctly.
Oh yeah, when I tilt the head back, I chuck a small towel under the drive boards to catch any moisture that may still drip onto the carpet.

I think my problem wasn't over thinking it as much as not thinking enough..We instinctively clean our equipment after or before jobs and yanking dirty used pads was in the routine.
I used a set of pads for the 3rd job today and everything cleaned as if they were brand new..guess I wasted a lot of money on pads in the past
Now I will use them till they are flat

You guys are all madmen. Everyone knows FiberPlus pads should be replaced every 100 square feet. In fact you should probably replace them even sooner than that.

LOL You guys are doing it right. Wear those suckers down till they're practically see-through (between 1/8" - 1/4"). Just be careful that you don't wear all the way through the pad and expose the velcro to the carpet.
