Penguin Sprayer takes a bullet - Anew Carpet Cleaning OKC - 01-24-2014 I left a penguin sprayer near a small heater and it now has a triple size half dollar size hole melted about 2 gallons up, any ideas on how to plug it???....thanks. the hole is on the side wall, I am currently trying to plug it with a cut out of a plastic encap gallon, but it is a rough fit, any help would be appreciated. RE: Penguin Sprayer takes a bullet - encapman - 01-24-2014 I doubt that you'll find a successful way to effectively patch roto-molded plastic. If you need a replacement tank, we can get one for you. Sorry to hear about your injured Penguin! RE: Penguin Sprayer takes a bullet - Hoss - 01-24-2014 Seems like you could use a door knob cutter to create a uniform hole and use the same process to make a cutout from suitable material. Then, trim and epoxy the patch. RE: Penguin Sprayer takes a bullet - FloorCareMD - 01-24-2014 Try one of those "winter closing" plugs from an above ground pool supply place if hole is not too large. http://www.amazon.com/WINTERIZING-EXPANSION-FREEZE-PLUG-PIPE/dp/B00404O5RG Here is a 2" http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-2-Rubber-Expansion-Winter-Plug-Sz-11-Stainless-Washer-Bolt-w-Nylon-Wing-Nut-/390657552995 I am sure if you look for the right size, you will find one. May have to drill out a round hole first like Hoss suggested. That sounds like it might work. Good idea! RE: Penguin Sprayer takes a bullet - FloorCareMD - 01-25-2014 Take a look at these. Must be a joke or something. It's a little rubber cork with stainless washers, a bolt and a wing nut. WHY SO EXPENSIVE!!! Are these a super special size for some top secret military project? http://www.pricegrabber.com/appliances/home-other-parts-accessories++plasticoid-explbl-14-black-rubber-and-stainless-steel-expansion-plug-s/m-861146517/#_product_details http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00462R2EK/ref=asc_df_B00462R2EK2936575?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&tag=pg-1592-01-20&linkCode=asn&creative=395093&creativeASIN=B00462R2EK RE: Penguin Sprayer takes a bullet - encapman - 01-25-2014 We're all in the wrong business. LOL RE: Penguin Sprayer takes a bullet - TroyD - 01-26-2014 after you pluge the hole, hit it with some of that flexseal stuff. I haven't used it but on tv it looks pretty impressive. RE: Penguin Sprayer takes a bullet - FloorCareMD - 01-26-2014 Many thought this did too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GeF7A05zQ8 RE: Penguin Sprayer takes a bullet - Duane - 01-26-2014 I use to be an auto body Tec. There is such a thing called a plastic welder used for the plastic bumpers on cars today.Check with your local body shop that is certified in plastic repair.Good luck! RE: Penguin Sprayer takes a bullet - David-Hebert - 01-27-2014 I know you can get those rubber stoppers with the washer less expensive then that my Steamin Demons have them so I know they all cannot be that expensive RE: Penguin Sprayer takes a bullet - Hoss - 01-28-2014 I guess the real issue would be the pressure within the tank. |
