Word of mouth.....

In 30 plus years in the commercial carpet cleaning world I've observed that direct selling works best. With commercial it's important to get out there and get in front of the decision makers. Lots of pieces contribute to that... a good website, good looking brochures, professional phone introduction and emails, sharp looking presentation material, providing a carpet inspection, roviding a demo, offering a solid guarantee, etc. But the main thing is to meld all of these elements together in order to get past the gatekeeper and in front of decision maker so that you can make a face to face presentation. Once you get in front of the prospect, that's when the selling happens with commercial accounts.

I'll agree with Rick on this.

I've been after a particular Jewelers shop for a couple of years now, I'd drop in every couple of months and say g'day.

Two weeks ago they finally succumbed and got me to clean their carpets.

Since then, I've done another one of their stores and have the third one to do tonight.

So far, the two that I've done, have scheduled me for a clean every 3-4 months, which works in with other stores that I have in the same shopping centres, I have keys for the other stores.

Although these are relatively small payers, but when I spend two hours for $300.00 I'm not complaining.
