Oreck Lowboy - aggieman007 - 03-13-2014 Purchased Lowboy off ebay cleaned small area of carpet seems very difficult to handle used Bonnets w the green Velcro. I Thought the lowboy handle like 175 seems real rough? But cleaned the area of carpet well any suggestion on getting a better handle and feel of the Machine? RE: Oreck Lowboy - encapman - 03-13-2014 In fact that is one of the reasons why we developed the Vario. The Lowboy was a little tough to handle. If you use microfiber bonnets on it you may find that it's a little easier to handle. Start with damp bonnets, and make sure there's plenty of lubrication by way of detergent application. And rather than working side to side like a rotary machine, push it forward and backward. I hope you get it sorted out and get to enjoy your new machine acquisition. RE: Oreck Lowboy - aggieman007 - 03-14-2014 Rick what is the red switch under the handle for? RE: Oreck Lowboy - encapman - 03-14-2014 That is safety release. You slide it forward before squeezing the levers to operate the machine. RE: Oreck Lowboy - msc1917 - 03-16-2014 Rick, if im not mistaken, isnt that the purpose for the new spring loaded weels you added? or does it handle bad even with those? RE: Oreck Lowboy - encapman - 03-16-2014 That is the exact reason for the swingarm assembly! The machine handled poorly on carpet before we came up with that. Now it handles like a dream with the swingarm assembly and large wheels! The Vario glides back and forth in a straight line with no effort whatsoever. ![]() |
