The vario I just got leaked some grease from the axle into a couple of wool area rugs. Any ideas?

I'm not sure how grease could be leaking. There isn't any grease applied to the axle. However there is grease where the oscillating bearing is housed. The housing for the bearing is sealed with a heavy duty silicone based sealant, and it shouldn't be leaking any grease. Remove the pad driver and take a look at the underside of the machine. Look for any signs of grease. That would be the only possible place where grease could be coming from. Give us a call at the office if you need help. You can ask for Rod, he knows these machines like the back of his hand.

Great. Thank you . Looks like axle grease and when water was added it liquefied and is leaking. Have 4 wool rugs trying to get grease out of. Any ideas?

Mix some DS2 strong, 8-12 oz per gallon, and use it as a strong spot treatment. Blot with a towel. That should knock out the grease. And it won't harm the wool. You can also run back over the section again with the Vario as a final step to blend everything together so it looks consistent with the rest of the carpet.
