I need to replace a broken water feed elbow. Of course, the space is too tight for either my hand or my wife's hand to fit under the shield. What are the steps involved in replacing this thing? Thanks!

Skinny fingers. Get someone with skinny fingers to help you.
Otherwise you'll need to disable the bowl/drive-deck; and that's not a pleasant task.
Another option is to cut a short section of straw from a trigger sprayer and shim the broken sections of the elbow back together again. This is by far the simplest approach and many folks have opted for fixing it this way.

Cimex should REALLY rethink this design. If they're going to make a part this much of a PITA to replace, they should at least make the darn thing out of something more durable than plastic.

Thanks Rick! Unfortunately, the straw method won't work here. The elbow is obliterated.
