Has anyone cleaned Egyptian wool carpets?? I know about testing for color but just wondered if anyone has encapped this type of carpeting? Thank you, JZ

I've encapped hundreds of oriental rugs with no bleeding or smearing. Encap is the preferred method, in my view, where unstable dyes might be a problem.
And that often is a problem on genuine article orientals. A lot of the Egyptian rugs tend to be down the quality chain, often machine made olefins. So not much worry there.
Unless the rug has extreme issues, encapping is a great alternative to the classic, but super cumbersome and very expensive submersion method.
Beat the rug, then encap both sides.
