I'm thinking of buying the CRB-20. I currently own 2 Cimex's. I use one daily to pre-scrub my residential carpet pre-spray and scrub tile/grout. I do Cimex (encap) approximately 80% of my CGD, while pre-scrubbing the balance of my CGD for HWE. My question is: how would a CRB-20 fit into my arsenal when I'm utilizing the Cimex in so many different ways? I read so much about CRB machines these days, and would like to add one. I would appreciate any thoughts! Thanks

The only reason to have one is to say that you have all equipment on hand to conform with the warranty requirements of all the mills.
Some mills go as far as saying that any rotary action will void the warranty, whereas, counter rotating brush machines are ok.
A brush machine will not out clean the Cimex when it comes to encap cleaning.
It is another tool if want to have every tool available.
Might work ok in residential encap cleaning if you provide that service.

Use dry with renovators to remove deep-down dirt, separate and raise the fibers, and get the carpet ready for pre-vac. Use without renovators to scrub the carpet after vac, pre-spray and spot treatment. Follow up with pad-capping to absorb any soluble soils released through agitation and chemistry.

Hi. I recently bought a CRB 20" got it here in fact. I have found it great on smaller jobs. I have recently been targeting some real small customers with about 500 sqft of carpet @25c per sqft. Problem with the cimex is the lifting out go the van and setup time then lifting it back in the van. It is a lot of work for an hour of cleaning. With the CRB it takes 2 minutes and I am all ready to clean in 5. I have been using DS2 and sponges. Spray DS2 then sprinkle down the sponges. Customers love it and the results are great. I can be in and out in an hour and carpets are dry. Don't forget to bring a vacuum them sponges are hard to get around the edges. Works great on spots too.

Jarrod, why do you lift the Cimex in & out??

I'm 69 in a few months and don't have any qualms nor problems getting either my Big Yella or Sprayborg in or out of the van.

Been doing it this way for nearly a decade, can't see me changing before 2025 when I may slow down a bit.

Due to the way my body is built the cimex is heavy for me. in fact another 40 pounds and the cimex would weigh as much as me. I too use ramps but it is a struggle. It is worth it on some jobs but not on others. and I do love my cimex. it has opened many doors. Due to having an accident at home a few weeks back, I cracked a rib so my wife has been doing a lot to help me. I agree that most people have no problems moving a cimex in and out of the truck. For me it is a struggle.

If your Cimex comes in through the side door, park close to the kerb.

This will make the van floor about 6" lower.

If you load in through the rear, then try and reverse park so that the ground/kerb is higher.

How long are your ramps?

Mine are 3' that extend to 6'.

When I only had 3' ramps, yes, it was a bit of a struggle, but this old, fat, well out of condition f?rt managed to do it.

The longer the ramps, the easier it is.

I'm about 5'6&1/2", weigh in around 220lb, and a sloth type lounge lizard, I need two knee replacements, and my age, as you saw above, is against me.

But I have an attitude problem.
